WATER ANALYSIS
We offer you on this page a whole range of accessories and products to be able to correctly analyze your water. Tablets for photometers or for manual testers, tabs, analysis kit or professional photometers, you will necessarily find what you are looking for here.
The secret to having perfect water throughout the season is to analyze your water regularly. This action will then allow you to use the right products according to your results.
Here are some tips for carrying out a correct water analysis:
pH
Hydrogen Potential, determines the degree of acidity or basicity of your pool. An acid pH, below 7, causes corrosion. A basic pH, above 7.8, causes scaling of the equipment, discomfort for bathers and the development of algae and bacteria.
-
Ideal pH value with chlorine treatment: 7 to 7.4
-
Ideal pH value with bromine treatment: 7.6 to 7.8
Brome
Disinfectant extracted from sea water, less aggressive than chlorine for skin, eyes and hair but much more expensive. Less sensitive to pH and will retain full effectiveness down to pH 7.8.
-
Ideal value: 2 to 4mmg/L
Chlorine
Sanitizer which is most commonly used for all types of swimming pools. It eliminates all bacteria from the pool and helps fight against algae. Available in two versions: stabilized chlorine which contains stabilizer and is much more resistant to UV rays, but beware of overstabilization! And the non-stabilized which does not contain stabilizer and is less resistant to UV but avoids overstabilization
-
Ideal value for stabilized chlorine: 1.5 to 3.5 mg/L
-
Ideal value for unstabilized chlorine: 0.4 to 1.5 mg/L
Stabilizing
Reduces the degradation of chlorine in contact with UV and ensures the remanence of chlorine. Can be combined with unstabilized chlorine. Watch out for the overstabilization of the pelvis! Use sparingly
-
Ideal value: 20 to 40 mg/L
TAC (alkalinity rate)
Represents the rate of mineral salts present in the pool water (magnesium, sodium, etc.). It is essential in the balance of your water because it will stabilize your pH, which will lead to chlorine stabilization.
-
Ideal value: 80 to 200mg/L (depending on the size of the pool)
Salt (Sodium Chloride)
Salt that is put in the water and which, by electrolysis, will be transformed into "natural" chlorine (sodium hypochlorite) and thus allow the disinfection of the pool
-
Ideal value: 3 to 7 mg/L of water depending on the size of the pool and the programming of your chlorinator
